Eddie “The Eagle Edwards” comes to the Wellington Festival

We are all excited at the prospect of meeting Eddie in person and hearing about his escapades as he became the first competitor to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping in 1988.

At the time, he was the British ski jumping record holder, the world number nine in amateur speed skier (106.8 mph (171.9 km/h)) and held a stunt jumping world record of 6 buses or ten cars.

This year, his story is told in the  biographical film Eddie the Eagle telling of his perseverance and achievements all without funding.  Look out for Eddie on the Festival Programme.
